This is the course of choice for those individuals who need to be competent to take control of an emergency situation and care for the casualty until professional help arrives. The course is delivered in a single day and covers the requirements for the 'Appointed Person'.
Like all our courses it is very practical with hands-on learning throughout the day. We aim to ensure that every participant leaves us feeling confident and competent to deal with the unexpected in their day-to-day setting.
This is the ideal course for teachers, shop and office staff, and those working in public places.
The course includes:
There is no examination as the instructors operate a continuous assessment throughout the day.
The certificate awarded is valid for 3 years.
Cost: The course is delivered at your venue for £49 per person including Registration fee, certificate fee and a comprehensive ITC First Aid handbook.
Outdoor Emergency Aid -
Appointed Person (One Day Course)
This course is essentially the same as the above Emergency Aid - Appointed Person Course, except that the emphasis and practical scenarios are placed firmly in outdoor settings, making this the ideal short course for teachers who sometimes accompany pupils and students on field trips and visits away from school and into more rural settings. Attention is paid to the effect of the environment and the time delay that may occur before help arrives.
Participants should expect to spend time in the outdoors and be dressed appropriately for inclement weather.
There is no examination as the instructors operate a continuous assessment throughout the day.
The certificate awarded is valid for 3 years.

Outdoor First Aid (Two Day
Course)
This course meets
all of the National Governing Body requirements for ML, MIA, MIC, SPA etc, and
is the appropriate course for outdoors adventure instructors. The
instruction assumes you have to consider the safety and welfare of a group of
individuals, and that there may be a significant delay in the arrival of
emergency services to a remote location. This is reflected and reinforced
in all practical scenarios.
This is the ideal
course for participants, supervisors and trainers of the Duke of Edinburgh Award, education establishments may be able to access significant funding for
pupils aged 16 - 19. (Ask for details)
